AgeLab Researchers Publish on Oldest Old and Politics

AgeLab researcher John Rudnik is the lead author on a paper in the Journal of Gerontological Social Work drawing on findings from the 85+ Lifestyle Leaders panel. Titled Hardly Silent: Exploring Civic Engagement and Participation among a Panel of Adults Ages 85+, the paper discusses the Lifestyle Leaders' sociopolitical activities and their use of technology to remain politically engaged.
According to the paper's abstract, findings from a focus group and questionnaire administered to the panel include that the oldest old are interested in social and political issues, and there are opportunities for technology to facilitate the oldest olds’ civic and political action.
