The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is an annual global event held in France for leaders in creative communications, advertising, marketing, and related fields. Dr. Coughlin spoke before an audience of the world's leading creative forces in technology, advertising, and consumer products on the urgent need for a new story to be written around caregiving.
Drawing upon the MIT AgeLab’s CareHive Consortium, which engages companies focused on understanding and developing innovations that serve family caregivers and their loved ones, Dr. Coughlin called on the global creative elite gathered in Cannes to transform family caregiving from what is today a personal challenge into a public issue.
As the number of family caregivers rises across the globe, there is a need for public attention and investment in technology innovations, corporate policies to support working caregivers, and public policy to address the needs of families and older adults alike.
